Hi! I'm Kayla
I’m so excited that you’re interested in a boudoir photoshoot at SmokeShow—one of the top boudoir studios in Kansas! It’s my honor to serve incredible women and couples from Kansas and all over the country. I’ll be your guide throughout your boudoir experience, from the moment you book to the second I pose you from your eyelashes to your toes on session day.
Now, I get that this is the part where I’m supposed to tell you about my awards, publications, and other accomplishments. But honestly? That’s just not me. I’m not here to sell you on anything. Yes, I’ve worked hard to build my studio and hone my skills, but I’m not about the shiny awards, collecting badges or being the one to shout “Pick me!” the loudest.
I’m here because I’ve seen what happens when we, as women, forget how incredible we are. Growing up, I watched the women around me give so much of themselves that they started to feel like they weren’t enough. And truthfully, I’ve felt that way too. Just trying to juggle the various responsibilities in life can leave us feeling like we're dropping the ball everywhere. When I started having deeper conversations with other women, I realized this wasn’t just my story—it’s universal.
Life gets busy. We get busy with all of the roles and labels, and wearing all of the hats, forgetting to take them off once in a while to just be ourselves. Life gets hard. We absorb the hits it throws at us and somewhere along the way we quit swinging back. We lose touch with our femininity, our sensuality, and our strength.
That’s why I created SmokeShow—a space where you can see your beauty, own your power, and remember the resilience that makes YOU magic. This isn’t just a day of pampering (Though you’ll definitely get that!). It’s an experience that will leave you with something lasting: tangible proof that you are so much more than the roles you're assigned or the labels and hats you wear.

Fun facts about me:
1. I'm a book sniffer. Yes, you heard that right! I love to read (mostly psychology and business) but you can't tell me you don't love the smell of a new book if you're really a reader.
2. I'm sucker for the fluff! If it can be described as soft, fluffy or comfy, please hand me a chai latte and let me relish in what makes me feel cozy and fancy.
3. I am ALWAYS down for a road trip. I love all of the little details in all of the new places but I do have a tendency to startle sleeping road buddies with ridiculous levels of excitement when I see something really cool.
4. Almost every single one of my clients has heard me say "I know it feels weird but I promise it looks good!" at least once when it comes to posing, lashes or the wedgie that I am profusely promising is your best friend in that moment.
5. I'm highly neurospicy. The legit kind, not the trendy kind. I'll lose my camera 50 times during a session but it's totally okay- I put it somewhere safe! IYKYK.
The studio
SmokeShow Boudoir is a full service, woman owned, luxury boudoir studio in Downtown Topeka.
We are conveniently located in the heart of Northeast Kansas, only one hour from Manhattan and Kansas City (MCI), two hours from Wichita and three hours from Omaha and Lincoln, NE.
For clients traveling to us, we recommend staying with our neighbors at the Cyrus Hotel and we are happy to provide recommendations for dining and entertainment in the area before and after your session.
We are also available for destination travel and would love to design your dream session! You name it. Let's goooo!!!

37 yr old mom. This was my second boudoir session, but first time with Kayla. She has an easy going personality and very creative eye. My makeup and hair was stunning. I brought several outfits to pick and she was able to incorporate a signature piece which ended up being mine and my man’s favorite photo.
