The confidence was already there. We just captured it!
We get giddy when a client walks into the studio already knowing she’s ready and that was Ish. She’d been watching us online, scrolling through images, outfits, and poses in our Facebook group, and that quiet “someday” thought turned into a bold “let’s go!”
“I have always wanted to do a boudoir session,” she told us. “And I decided SmokeShow was where I was going.” (We may or may not have done a little happy dance when we read that.)
Was she nervous leading up to her session? Totally. But it wasn’t insecurity. It was that Type-A “I hope I packed all my lingerie” kind of nervous. She told us, “No hesitation. Just fear of not being prepared.”
But when she walked into the studio? The nerves didn’t stand a chance. “What surprised me most was how calming and inviting the atmosphere was,” she said. We took that as a win! That pre-session panic about lingerie and prep? Gone. Before long, she was striking poses and fully in her element. When we asked how she felt during her session, her answer made us grin: “Sexy.” And she definitely was.
She told us that one thing that really stood out was “Kayla’s professionalism behind the camera,” which we’ll admit made our hearts swell. Making someone feel safe to confidently be themselves is the real goal behind every click of the shutter.
When she left the studio, she walked out with two feelings that say it all: “Relief and excitement.” Because when you do something bold for yourself (even when you’re ready for it), it still takes guts. And seeing the final result? She summed it up in one word: “Amazing.”
Her images now live in a sleek Little Black Book and when she gifted her images to her husband? She said, “He LOVES seeing my body- and these pics did just that. Beautiful and sexy.”
When we asked what she thinks now, whenever she sees her images, she simply said:
“So glad I went for it and just finally did it.”
Ish didn’t come to her session hoping to find confidence. She already had it. What she did in that studio was claim it, preserve it, and own it…for who she was in that moment, every day, and for every version of her to come that still deserves to be seen.
